We designed the Crowdamerica Index Portfolio as the easiest way for anyone to invest in the Cryptocurrency Market. The Index tracks the market capitalization of cryptocurrencies and is rebalanced daily through our algorithm. The Portfolio is carefully selected based on our investment thesis that identifies three major value drivers within the cryptocurrency space.

The internet had long lacked native payment transfer protocols to facilitate the exchange of value around the world. Cryptocurrencies originated in response to this particular problem. While Bitcoin is by far the most important player in this area, several alternative cryptocurrencies have emerged in recent years, competing for a market share in the payment sector.

Decentralized Finance (DeFi):
Decentralized or open finance is the fastest-growing segment in the cryptocurrency space. DeFi creates a universe of smart contracts that mimic the functions of the original financial institutions and bring them into the blockchain in the form of open-source decentralized applications. Unlike the traditional financial system, DeFi applications are controlled only by transparent mathematics.

Longlist
Each cryptocurrency must be among the Top 50 based on market capitalization according to CoinMarketCap. -
Storage & security features
Those coins that cannot be stored in available secure infrastructure are excluded. -
Trading & liquidity features
Each cryptocurrency in the portfolio must be tradable on one of the major exchanges and must have sufficient liquidity - the minimum average daily global trading volume of EUR 5 million. -
Blacklist / Crypto waste
Cryptocurrencies associated with the MLM trade model, those that pose serious ethical risks or those whose manner of use is unclear, are excluded. -
Non-investment cryptocurrencies
Cryptocurrencies with low network activity, which indicates a failing business model, are excluded.
